2024 Training Schedule

NABat volunteers will participate in a 3-part training this year.  To register for training, first make sure you have a profile in our Wildlife Community Science volunteer system. Once registered, you will be able to sign-up for online trainings through this profile.

Part 1:  NABat Orientation – (Optional for returning participants)

This is an online, self-guided training module (asynchronous training).  We will review the basic structure and background of the program.  This training should be completed prior to attending Part 2.

To complete Part 1: NABat Orientation, review the slides or watch the narrated version below. After reviewing, complete the Orientation Attendance Form below.

Part 2: NABat Protocols and Equipment Set-up – (all volunteers should attend one of the two sessions)

This is an online, instructor-led training.  We will go over NABat data collection protocols in depth and demonstrate setting up and operating the equipment.  You should register for one of the following sessions. If you are not able to make any of these sessions, please let your Regional Specialist know immediately.

Part 3: NABat Hands-On Equipment Practice

For the 2024 season we will offer a few in-person sessions throughout the state where we will have equipment on hand to go over and practice with. If unable to make these sessions, we ask that you set up a video call with either your regional coordinator of KC to go over equipment once you get your kit.

Dates for In-Person sessions will be announced as they are set. Dates will be planned for late May and possibly June.

Once you receive your box of equipment, if you were unable to attend a group meet-up, contact your regional coordinator or KC for a quick review of the equipment and a few additional tips.
